Riso, Zines, and More
Risograph is based on a Japanese copy machine that has been appropriated by artists for high volume reporductions of prints, zines, posters, and more. The images are created by burning a stencil in rice paper within the machine. By loading different ink drums into the machine, you can build up a print color by color, similar to screenprinting.
Drivetrain is a one color Riso zine published in 2022. The book documents a modern take on 90's style mountain biking across the San Francisco Bay Area. The book is 32 pages, all printed with Risograph and complete with a cover clearcoated by hand. All printing and binding done at Max's Garage Press.
