Derek Popple is a chemist by day, printmaker by night. During his PhD at Cal, he started screenprinting in 2019 and eventually delved into a variety of traditional techniques. He prints and monitors at Max's Garage Press in Berkeley, specializing in screenprinting and relief. His work is process focused, with preference given to technical prints like CMYK screenprints, reduction and multi-block relief prints, and most recently lithography.
